Bill Clinton

President

My President –

Every time there is a rash of senseless shooting, your (my) administration takes aim at the guns, and the NRA. I hear so much about your high level of intellect so I trust you will be able to fathom the following.

If a patient has AIDS, would all you did for that person be, treat the skin liaisons with Neosporin? If so the patient will surely die. Our society is riddled with cancers. Lay off the politics and do the right things:

(1.)Raise the level of our educational system to the highest on earth. Raise the standards to be a teacher of our youth to the highest level and compensate likewise. This one move will create better parents for the future of our youth.

(2.) Establish campaign reform, x dollars per candidate, paid by taxpayers, to eliminate corporate influence.

(3.)End welfare for those that can work. Do not reward having babies instead of jobs with higher checks each month.

(4.) End bi-partisan politics. We are first Americans not Democrats or Republicans. All issue should be looked at as right or wrong not Democrat or Republican.

5.) I realize that morals and ethics are not your forte, but critically needed in our government. I don’t fault you because I myself understand the difference between business and private. Maybe a detailed revision of the separation of church and state amendments is in order.

6.) The first Amendment needs a look also. The rash of gun shootings only spark more with the bias media coverage. Do you remember the poison Tylenol incident that sparked numerous copycats? THE MEDIA BRINGS MANY OF OUR TRAGEDIES UPON US!

The second Amendment has no fault. FACT: A gun of any type is inert unless a human picks it up. So it is impossible to see a gun as a dangerous weapon.

FACT: More have died in car accidents than all wars combined. Let’s ban cars. Is this your logic? Can you protect my loved ones and I when we exercise our right to freedom and go out in public? Our police are as inadequate as our teachers. They can’t be everywhere. When government can protect each and every American then and only then us citizens won’t feel the need to carry handguns. As for the NRA, they are a lobby force same as the Bar Association, Insurance, etc. Drop this double standard. Nobody is attacking them. Beside campaign reform would end this. Although I know the real powers that be won’t allow this. But we certainly don’t have a government by the people for the people. We have a government by the dollar for the dollar. Why not change our currency to read, "In money we trust?"

Let’s drop not using cruel and unusual punishment. Weren’t the victims such as in Columbine victims of cruel and unusual punishment? All victims of those crimes are us taxpayers, remember us, we pay the bills here, including feeding and housing criminals. Maybe a large penal island and exile is a better option and deterrent. No fame via the media, just one way ticket out.

I could ramble out volumes of answers but that is the government’s job that we pay to do the job. Much like our teachers, police, and judicial system that are failing us. Don’t get me wrong because this is the greatest country. And ultimately change has to begin with the individuals and then work its way up. But for the interim our government can pass the tweaks I mentioned to get the ball rolling the right direction.

The Put Up Or Shut Up Argument In Gun Control

What is not being mentioned in the Main Stream Media is that hunters, many of who use semi automatic rifles with high capacity magazines provide more food for the homeless than any other group of people.

Front page of the Houston Chronicle dated February 6, 2013 ran a headline, “Harris County has plan to bring home the bacon”  The feral hog population in Texas is out of control and in an effort to reduce the population they plan to capture and process hogs to feed the homeless.  In Texas tons of pork is donated to homeless shelters and organizations that feed the hungry.

Hunters have been quietly donating tons of meat to organizations that feed the hungry for an unspoken number of years.  Groups like Hunters harvest and Hunters for Hungry have been gathering meat donations from hunters via local processing plants.  Groups like these are supplied large volumes of game meat from hunting members of organizations like the Safari Club International.  A member of the Houston Safari Club reported that hunters in an effort to manage game populations need to cull the herds to insure the health of the animals.  This creates harvesting in excess of what the hunters can eat.  This led to the donating of meat by the tons to the hungry as in homeless shelters for example.

Many are calling for gun control base on their emotions but the facts weigh in on the side of gun owners.  All the anti gun arguers combined don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to what they do to help the less fortunate in comparison to gun owning hunters in this country.  Gun owning hunters clearly let their actions and deeds speak for themselves instead of knee jerk emotions sparked by a tragedy that happen to involve a gun.

When the anti gun whiners do for the less fortunate as much as the gun owning hunters do then they may earn the right to be vocal and be seen as having a bit of validity in their arguments.   The righteous point always prevails in the end.
